In line with the tasks outlined in the “Strategy for International Cooperation of Turkmen Youth for 2023–2030”, approved by the President of Turkmenistan, and in accordance with the education sector development concepts, an international scientific and practical conference titled “Ashgabat — the Pearl of National Architecture, the Center of Science and Education” was held on May 21, 2025, at the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction. The event, organized in a digital format, marked Ashgabat City Day, celebrated during the International Year of Peace and Trust.

The conference brought together professors, doctoral students, master's students, and researchers from higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and abroad, along with specialists from scientific institutions and companies. Participants first viewed a thematic exhibition featuring research projects and applied arts prepared by the university’s faculty and students. Of particular interest was the presentation of the new campus project of the institute, currently under rapid construction.

The main goal of the conference was to strengthen friendly relations and promote mutually beneficial scientific exchange and cooperation between academic and scientific institutions.

Participants joined online from universities and research organizations in the USA, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. During the plenary session, international scholars shared insights on traditional architectural styles, global urban development trends, innovations in city planning, and environmentally harmonious design solutions.

Following the general session, the conference continued in thematic sections. One such session, “The Role of National Patterns in Modern Architectural Art”, was hosted at the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, where guests also explored an accompanying exhibition.

Among the conference's core objectives were the integration of science and production in the education system, fostering scientific thinking among students, identifying talented youth, preparing qualified scientific personnel, and supporting young professionals capable of solving real-world scientific and applied challenges.
