On July 12, in the Central Building of Turkmenistan’s oil and gas complex, an industry meeting was held to review the results of the sector’s enterprises for the first half of the current year — the International Year of Peace and Trust. During the meeting, participants discussed the tasks set by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the oil and gas sector at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting held on July 11 via digital format, where the results of all economic sectors for the reporting period were reviewed.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov and was attended by State Minister — Chairman of the State Concern “Turkmengaz” Maksat Babayev, Chairman of the State Concern “Turkmennebit” Guvanch Agajanov, Chairman of the State Corporation “Turkmengeology” Gurbangeldi Garlyev, as well as heads of associations, departments, and enterprises of the complex, who presented reports on their work for the reporting period.
The speeches covered information on the extraction and processing of oil and natural gas, which are in high demand on the global markets, the discovery of new promising fields and deposits, intensification of operations at the “Galkynysh” gas field, acceleration of construction projects, effective development of international cooperation in key sectors of the national economy, ongoing strengthening of the raw material base of the oil and gas industry, execution of geological exploration using digital technologies, and timely implementation of works taking into account weather conditions, among other key directions.
Vice Premier Batyr Amanov emphasized the need for constant oversight of major projects being implemented in the country’s oil and gas sector, timely execution of production plans, accelerated construction of the Serhetabat–Herat (TAPI) pipeline — also referred to as "Arkadag’s White Road" — as well as the importance of organizing the summer holiday season at health resorts under the sector’s jurisdiction and the regular professional development of personnel. In this regard, specific tasks were outlined for the “Turkmengaz” and “Turkmennebit” state concerns and the “Turkmengeology” state corporation.
The meeting was also attended by Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on Oil and Gas Issues, Ashirguly Begliyev.
