On June 25, 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ms. Mahri Bashimova and Member of the Senate of the French Republic, Member of the France–Central Asia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ms. Samantha Cazebonne.
During the meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation, particularly within the framework of the France–Central Asia Friendship Group.
The significance of holding bilateral meetings between the foreign ministries of the two countries was also underlined as a means of strengthening mutual understanding and identifying new areas of cooperation.
Special attention was paid to cooperation in the field of education, including the development of direct relations between higher education institutions of Turkmenistan and France, and the implementation of joint academic and scientific initiatives.
Gratitude was expressed for France’s support of Turkmenistan’s policy of permanent neutrality and for the constructive cooperation within international organizations. Ms. Bashimova confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to further intensify inter-parliamentary dialogue and explore new avenues of partnership.
The sides also highlighted the importance of organizing high-level and parliamentary visits as a key element in fostering bilateral relations.
